Largest contract for two decades for Heidelberg do Brasil

They still exist – large contracts in the print industry, which bring about a significant gain in capacity and productivity through full new installations. At the Brazilian online printer Printi in Sao Paulo, three new Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106presses and a fully automatic Suprasetter 106 CtP system have been in operation since March of this year. The complete package was supplied by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). Twelve Heidelberg technicians installed the machines within eight weeks. Once that had been done, twelve Printi employees received one month of intensive training in how to get the most from the systems.

Vetaphone will exhibit four machines at Labelexpo Europe 2019

Vetaphone, the Danish pioneer of Corona surface treatment, will be exhibiting four machines at Labelexpo in Brussels. For those looking for narrow web surface treatment, the company will be showing two Corona stations. The VE1A-A (C4) features four ceramic electrodes and is designed for single-sided treatment, while the newly launched VE1A-M (C8) is designed for complex substrates and applications where high Corona power is required from a single unit. Fitted with eight ceramic electrodes, the new C8, which is capable of operating at running speeds in excess of 300m/min. Both models are both CE and UL approved and like all Vetaphone Corona units, they are developed for non-stop production and easy maintenance.

Fernando de Yarza elected President of WAN-IFRA

During the 71st WAN-IFRA’s annual Congress in Glasgow, Scotland, Fernando de Yarza López-Madrazo, President of Henneo in Spain, was elected President of WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers. WAN-IFRA also appointed a new President and a new Vice President of the World Editors Forum. Fourteen executives from leading news media companies were also elected to new terms on the Board of WAN-IFRA.

Memjet’s DuraLink Technology wins Esteemed European Digital Press Award for best print engine and printhead

Memjet (Memjet.com), announced that its DuraLink digital printing technology was selected by the European Digital Press Association (EDP) as a winner at its 12th annual awards ceremony. The EDP Awards are given annually to recognize the year’s best technological developments in digital printing. DuraLink, which won the Best Print Engine and Printheads category, is Memjet’s modular print system that is used by OEMs to create innovative printers for the commercial, packaging and industrial print markets. One of Colombia’s leading manufacturing suppliers of flexible packaging, Flex Pack SAS, has installed Flexo Wash technology at its plant in Bogota to help improve the quality of work being produced on its two flexo printing presses. Founded in 2001 and still owned and managed by Carlos Alberto González and his wife Maribel Jácome, the company is vertically integrated offering a variety of services in-house from extrusion to rolling, printing, and valve inserting. Herma makes even special label materials removable

Introducing the new removable, UV acrylic-based adhesive HERMA 42X, HERMA offers a valuable addition to printers and label users: thanks to small minimum coating quantities starting at 1,000 square metres, even special label materials can be efficiently made removable. Usually, minimum coating quantities in this industry start at 7,500 square metres. Sampling is therefore possible at short notice, even for partially adhesive-lined labels.
