The Easymatrix 106 diecutter was designed to perfectly fit the needs of commercial printers looking to increase productivity and add high value added products to their portfolio. For these reasons Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG had expectations of good sales when the product was launched in Autumn 2015, but did not expect that machine serial 100 would already be planned for shipment to the USA before the end of 2017.

The Easymatrix has an excellent pedigree being based on the top selling diecutter in China, the largest market in the world for this type machine. Designed and built in Tianjin by MK Masterwork, the Easymatrix benefited from the shared experience of decades of design and application knowledge the two companies have accumulated. The biggest single market for the Easymatrix has been Germany with a total of 11 machines ordered since the arrival of the first machine at a customer in Berlin in July last year.

Machine performance, attractive pricing and extensive features to meet the needs of the most demanding commercial printer are the key criteria that have been driving sales, but almost as important is the peace of mind the “GS sticker” on the machine brings. Proving that the machine meets the highest health and safety standards, required to earn certification from the German Berufsgenossenschaft safety bureau requires careful design and extensive machine testing, but MK Masterwork, the only manufacturer of postpress machinery in Asia certified in this way, believe that it is a worthwhile investment as it underlines the company’s commitment to delivering machines built to the highest standards.

Salzland Druck in Staßfurt, who installed a Easymatrix 106 C in January 2017 is typical of customers who were looking to benefit from bringing more value in house and is now able to completely produce its portfolio of high-quality foil, plastic and cardboard products itself. “Each of our jobs is unusual, from plastic stand-up displays for the B2B sector, through kiss cut stickers, to foil folders with a material thickness of up to 800 µm and cardboard products with highly-complex cutting geometries.” confirms Christian Heinrich, Managing Partner at Salzland Druck. The Easymatrix 106 C processes all these materials without any problems and it boasts impressive equipment, which includes quick-lock frames, test sheet removal, registers at all the stations as well as simple touchscreen operation and other features that ensure extremely short makeready times. With an average run of 10,000 cut sheets per production job, it is possible to achieve a production time including makeready of less than three hours in some cases, depending on the material used.

The experience of a customer in the USA, another big market for the Easymatrix, highlights another benefit of the Easymatrix. After only one month of operation, Trabon of Kansas City, Missouri increased their productivity 400% with their new Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter. After replacing two older, less efficient technologies, Trabon is now able to convert 6,000 products an hour with only one operator. Previously, they were only running 3,000 sheets an hour with two operators.

“It’s extremely hard to find people that have the experience to run postpress machines,” said George Gilliam, Vice President of Trabon. “Now that we have the Easymatrix 106 CS, our operators are now free to utilize their skills on other machines.”

The Easymatrix has already proven itself to be a very attractive designed machine for forward thinking printers.
